From Platform to Power: SpankChain’s Next Era of Impact
Last week, we hit pause on SpankPay and SpankMatch — not to give up, but to go all in.
Building products in the current regulatory climate was unsustainable. But building power?
We’ve been climbing that hill for seven years. As we move forward as a company, we are focusing all of our efforts on strategic collaborations with some of the most influential leaders in the adult and crypto industries while doubling down on advocacy and educating lawmakers at both the state and federal levels.

Our Fight is Your Fight
Since 2017, SpankChain has built tools and supported initiatives to serve the adult and crypto communities and help them transcend legacy systems. We’re not just on your side, we’re part of the same team. That’s why we’re such dedicated advocates — we have as much skin in this game as you do.
It’s no secret that politicians favor particular agendas while actively working to block others. In our legal system, there is a long history of passing bills with “carve-outs,” which are legislation designed to exclude the rights, benefits, and protections of targeted individuals and communities. Sex workers, and more recently, the crypto community, are all too familiar with such tactics.
Our company and communities have suffered untold harm and financial loss due to this unfair system, and we know we aren’t alone. Far too many of us have been debanked, deplatformed, pushed out, and censored by a system built on repression. This mistreatment only stokes our anger and makes our mission all the more personal. Our backs have been pushed up against the proverbial wall, but we’re still on our feet, ready to fight that much harder, because freedom is worth fighting for.
We’ve been at the forefront of the crypto and adult industries for years, and during all that time, the powers that be have given us a thousand and one reasons to be angry. They have canceled us they have blocked us, but we’re doubling down. And we know we can succeed because we’ve already taken our fight to the national stage, and we’re in good company.
Our commitment to activism has yielded some sweet fruit. Here’s what we’ve been up to and what we’ve accomplished:
- We supported the FSC’s fight against 19 state bills that were eventually ruled unconstitutional.
- We sold out our first zine in less than two months and gave all of the proceeds to the Free Speech Coalition.
- We supported the introduction of a decriminalization bill to members of Congress.
- We educate members of Congress and the Senate through frequent meetings.
- We attended industry conventions and workshops in order to connect with our community.
- We have offered guidance on several debanking bills.
What’s New?
With great pivots, come even greater new updates. Here’s what’s on the docket:
- We are revamping our website and social media profiles to better reflect our current activity.
- We are publishing Hors D’oeuvres, Second Edition, SpankChain’s limited edition art book, the proceeds of which will be donated to the FSC.
- As part of our website relaunch, all of our history and newsletters will be soon aggregated and made publicly available so that everyone can access everything we have learned and done so far.
What’s Next?
